There are plenty of patients waiting for an organtransplantation. If it is about a vitally important organ, like heart, lung or liver, the quality of life and the expectancy of life are decreasing day by day. These people can only be saved by an organdonation. If a non vital organ is needed, patients can survive with an alternative treatment, such as renal dialysis for kidney diseases.
Under such hard and complex medical conditions, the above mentioned patients are living their life in huge dependency. So the transplantation is considered as a chance, to gain enhanced quality of life.
One day, each one of us could find himself on a waiting list, waiting for an organdonation.
