National Transplant Coordination
National Transplant Coordination allocates the available donor organs to recipients in consultation with the transplantation centres, organizes and coordinates all activities related to the allocation process at a national level and works with allocation organizations outside Switzerland. Coordination runs a 24/7, all-year-round service, which ensures that all organ donations proceed smoothly and in compliance with the law. This department also maintains the waiting list of patients waiting for a transplant organ, answers questions on the topic, records figures for statistics on organ donations and transplantation and provides administrative support to the various working groups of the Medical Committee (CM). The coordinators also hold public lectures, visit interested schools and assist with public campaigns.
